The government’s Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS) provide grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding. TAMS 3 is an enhanced scheme for 2023 to help farmers fund solar energy projects.
Homeowners can receive a grant of up to €1,800 towards the installation of solar PV panels. The grant is calculated based on the size of the system installed:
- €700 per kilowatt-peak (kWp) for the first 2kWp.
- An additional €200 for every extra kWp installed, up to a maximum of 4kWp.
- This means a 2kWp system would receive €1,400, a 3kWp system €1,600, and a 4kWp or larger system would reach the maximum grant of €1,800
Solar panels typically include a 25-year manufactures warranty, while inverters and batteries are covered for 5 to 10 years manufactures warranty
It will take 2 days for the solar PV installation
We will do a free site survey to calculate number of solar panels that will fit on your house and design as solar pv system for your home.
You can apply through the SEAI website. We can guide you through each step of the application. Visit the SEAI website for more information.
Solar panels, also known as photovoltaic (PV) panels, are devices that convert sunlight directly into electricity. They are made up of many individual solar cells, typically made from silicon, which generate an electrical current when exposed to sunlight. This clean, renewable energy source can then be used to power homes, businesses, and various other applications, helping to reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels and lower electricity bills in places like Limerick and across Ireland.
We recommend periodically checking that the app is working and that the system is producing power. Additionally, you should inspect the panels for dirt, debris, or dust that could block sunlight, and clean them as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
It’s designed to use excess solar energy to heat the water when available this works best in the summer months, but it doesn’t operate as a primary source of hot water.
